Swan Brewery, Leominster

Pint Of Swan Brewery Beer being pulled from pump

Taking English malt, Herefordshire hops, our own strain of yeast along with liquor (water), we brew ales at our Leominster brewery. Visitors to the brewery can see the brewers in action: mashing in; digging out the mash tun; adding hops to the copper; pitching or skimming the yeast; racking the beer.

The sights, sounds and smells of a brew day are an amazing sensory experience. Beer names such as Swan Gold, Swan Blonde and Black Swan indicate the beer colour, while others play on swan names and reputations: Winter Swanderland; Arm Breaker; Cygneture Ale or Bewick’s Best. Our spent grain passes to a local farmer and our spent hops grace the raised beds of many a Leominster garden.

We’re open each Friday 10-5 with a couple of firkins of our ales set up in our cold room for visitors to sample and perhaps purchase bright, draught take-outs. Once a month we have a Tasting Day with a pop up pub and a guest food vendor.

Other items to browse in our brewery shop include our range of bottled and canned beers plus other artisan drinks, honey, damson port and handcrafted oak fret work.

Mainly our beer is delivered in casks to pubs, but we also undertake home deliveries (including holiday houses) of polypins, bottles and cans each Wednesday and Thursday.

How to find us

We are to the south of Leominster on the Enterprise Park.  You can approach us from the A49 bypass; the town of Leominster or the old road, the B4361.

From the A49 / A44 roundabout take the road which goes up and over the railway.  There are signs indicating Enterprise Park and Police Station.  At the next roundabout turn left (you’ll most likely see a little sign by the roadside).  Take the next right turn, which passes the back entrance to the police station.  Continue down another 200 meters and we are in the Flexspace workshops on the left.  Other businesses close by you may know or see signs for are Grange and Oldfields Garage on the right and PJs Refrigeration in our little cul-de-sac on the left.

From the B4361 heading from the south, turn right in to the Enterprise Park on Owen Way.  There’s usually an A board sign up to show you where to turn.  Owen Way has speed bumps.  You will have a huge factory, Dales, on your left.  Turn left at the end of the factory, continue straight over the roundabout and swing round to the right as the road bends (with Orphans Press on the left).  The entrance to our workshops is a few meters further on, on the right, almost opposite I-I-Ice Refrigeration.

Coming from the town centre, take Etnam Street which becomes Worcester Road as it passes the train station.  Go straight over at the roundabout then take the next right turn, which passes the back entrance to the police station.  Continue down another 200 meters and we are in the Flexspace workshops on the left.  Other businesses close by you may know or see signs for are Grange and Oldfields Garage on the right and PJs Refrigeration in our little cul-de-sac on the left.

There are lots of signs with our logo and a big orange arrow on dotted about – look out for them.
