Queenswood Country Park & Arboretrum, Nr Leominster

Queenswood Arboretum in autumn with acer trees with orange and red and green leaves

The green heart of Herefordshire

Queenswood is the green heart of Herefordshire. A wonderful place for a woodland walk, surfaced paths run through the 47 acre Arboretum at the heart of the site which is decorated with cherry and magnolia blossom in spring and afire with rich autumn colours of maples and oaks in autumn. Surrounding the arboretum, native woodland stretches over a further 120 acres with paths winding through an ancient wooded landscape.

Our staff and volunteers team will offer you a warm welcome at our Visitor Centre and gift shop which is close to the car parks, woodland playground and family-run café.

Families love our Gruffalo Trail while our ‘Lyrics, Leaves & Lives’ audio trail offers a glimpse into the social and natural history of the woodland.
The site is managed by Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and New Leaf Sustainable Development. The Wildlife Trust ensure that the site is managed to best conserve the wonderful wildlife here from dormice to woodland birds and butterflies. In fact, the native woodland here is so rich in wildlife it is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

New Leaf have improved the sustainability of the site – from introducing renewable energy sources to improved recycling facilities and now run the Sustainable Future Centre here where people can find out more about how to live and work more sustainably.

The site is open from dawn to dusk with most facilities open from 10am to 4pm daily.
