Plantastik CIC, Leominster

plantastik cic – the cafe with a heart – is a Community Interest Company a company set up to serve the community and to put back any profit into the community. Our chef Hanna produces delicious meals from different ingredients every week depending on what is supplied by FairShare who distribute surplus food from supermarkets. The old hair salon has been converted into a quirky and welcoming space.
We serve meals, drinks, cakes and takeaways offering plant-based food and drinks, a healthy and planet friendly option to eating out. We reduce food waste by using surplus supermarket supplies from FairShare and other sources of unused food. Serving only vegan food we will be tackling climate change, offering lower carbon footprint refreshments.
Our mission is to develop the cafe to be a community hub, working with a range of local groups to fight food poverty and encourage one another to live more sustainably. We are linked with Transition Leominster, the group which informs people about climate change and
environmental concerns. We thank Transition Network for granting us a seeding grant from the Lottery Community Fund. The company otherwise has been funded privately and is run by volunteers.
